The HCL BigFix team is pleased to announce that BigFix is Windows 11 Ready! Our System Requirements page has been updated accordingly.
Windows 11 offers improved security, visual redesign, better multitasking and numerous other features. Organizations can continue to leverage BigFix to manage every endpoint, including those running Windows 11.
In anticipation of the rollout of Microsoft Windows 11, customers can use BigFix to ascertain which endpoints are appropriate for Windows 11 by surveying RAM, CPU, BIOS and Video as well as block unsanctioned endpoints from upgrading to Windows 11. For more information, including details for a Windows 11 Eligibility Report, please see our blog post at: https://blog.hcltechsw.com/bigfix/bigfix-is-windows-11-ready/
Will HCL be releasing a report/dashboard/analysis/etc that will assist with determining “compatible” endpoints? Understanding Microsoft has been vague on specifics, I know there will be minimum “generational” CPU specs, require a TPM 2.0 (and it be enabled), UEFI BIOS, and some sort of minimum RAM / disk space requirement associated. Having a dashboard would assist greatly!
In case anyone is interested, here is something I threw together for identifying the CPU Generation (for processors that follow that nomenclature) back when Microsoft was only describing CPU requirements in terms of generation. Now that they have actually provided specific supported CPU models for AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm it may be moot (but possibly useful in and of itself).
