Fixlet Remediation History By Computer Name

@roberteastman, looks like 2 issues here:

  • You should cut-and-paste the report into Web Reports.
Web Reports menu --> Explore Data --> Custom

  • Secondly, the report is referring to the old name for the Windows patch site.
Please change “Patches for Windows (English)” to “Patches for Windows”

Lee Wei

Hello Lee Wei,

We haven’t taken all data for 2016 patches using Fixlet Remediation History By Computer Name report?
Have you ever encountered this problem ?

Thanks.

@candan, sorry for the late reply.

The report refers to the old name for the Windows patch site.
So we need to search and replace “Patches for Windows (English)” with “Patches for Windows”.
I suspect that is our problem here.

@leewei, Thanks for your reply.
Actually our problem is only about MS2016 patches.
I have replaced “Patches for Windows (English)” with “Patches for Windows” before running Report and I can get all year patches like 2015 2014 2013 except 2016.It is so strange.

I do see MS16 patches in my report, so nothing immediately obvious.

Hi Lee @leewei ,

I have been using this report on and off for a couple years. I have modified it a bit for my own requirements, but the one thing that I would really like to see if it could be updated is the calendar control.

Couple issues that I have:

  1. The control does not work well on IE or FireFox and works ok on Chrome (but not great)
  2. The control pops up over the fields, so if I want to manually enter the date, I cannot fully see the field.

Not huge issues, but my JS ability is not the best, but I am trying to work on it

Thanks

Martin

Haha, this report could use an update eh!
Looks like when I was just trying to learn JavaScript.
Thanks for the feedback!

Lee,

I need this report so can you please guide me how can i extract the report.

@Prakasho, you import the report by downloading the report from here:
http://leewei.com/bigfix/prod/forum/FixletFixDatebyComputerGroupWithDateA.besrpt

  • Save as text file
  • In Web Reports --> Report List --> Import report --> Use HTML format

I have this report and it no longer works with Web Reports Version 9.2.9. It does not pull any data back. I tried downloading the link for the latest report but the link is dead. Any help Wei?

@jensunm sorry for this old and neglected report. Maybe at some point I will refresh it.
The report posted does not work with newer versions of BigFix because the name of the Windows patch site has changed.

I have fixed it and here is the download link:

I can’t find this report in this thread or the one you reference. It is exactly what I’m looking for. Any chance you can point me in the direction to download it please and thank you. I am asking about the original report to get the remediation history by computer name. The screenshot is perfect for waht I need

@jvandenheuvel, is it not the link that is right above your post?

I must have downloaded an older version of the report or something as it wasn’t working. When I downloaded that version from your most recent post it is working. Thank you very much.

Is there any way to add the operator that performed the action and the fixlet source release date to this report?

I’m new to BigFix and using it for patching now in our environment. I’m also looking for similar detailed patching information to show which fixlets were installed on Server-X and when they were installed. Was this report ever identified that I could take advantage of? I see other links posted in this forum but I can’t seem to access them. The page shows it either doesn’t exist or is marked private.

Hi Leewei,

I downloaded the Fixlet Remediation History by computer name but its not working.
Please lok to the snapshot. After clicking on generate report nothing comes out.

Please help me out.

Thanks,
Vineet Kumar

A post was split to a new topic: Remediated Fixlets by Computer report?

You need to edit some of the code in the report. I think it says “Patches for Windows (English)”, but you need to change that to reference the new site name of just “Patches for Windows”.

Good luck.

@leewei We unfortunately are running into the same issue where no results are being returned. We attempted to update the code in the report from “Patches for Windows (English)” to “Patches for Windows” but it did not alleviate the issue. Perhaps someone can see something we are missing that needs to be amended? We are running on Bigfix 10.0.1.41
