BigFix WebUI new release available (July 2021)

HCL Software is pleased to announce an update to BigFix WebUI!
The main features in this release are as follows:

Redesigned Modern Client Management app, now supporting Mobile Devices!
The MCM app has undergone a full redesign, and now allows management of mobile devices - iPad, iPhone and Android! Please see the associated announcement for more information.
Note: this feature is available in BigFix Compliance, BigFix Lifecycle and BigFix Mobile.

Take Action Dialog: Brand new User Experience and Parameters!
Experience the new Take Action Dialog, completely redesigned to improve user experience! It now features advanced action configuration parameters, including policy actions, full management of pre/post messages and actions, and action constraints.

Easily create custom queries with the help of the Simple Query Builder and the Find Relevance tool!
The BigFix Query application has been enhanced with 2 new tools aimed at simplifying custom query creation, especially for operators that are new to Relevance language.

  1. Build Query: an easy to use wizard to help you craft simple relevance statements based on the power of BigFix inspectors.
  2. Find Query: a smart tool to help you search for Relevance statements across your BigFix deployment, to facilitate reuse.

Note: this feature is available in BigFix Compliance and BigFix Lifecycle.

New: Client Manager for Endpoint Protection in the WebUI!
Features of the Client Manager for Endpoint Protection application can now be driven from the WebUI! Please see the associated announcement for more information.
Note: this feature is available in BigFix Compliance.

New Patch view with improved user experience and data density!
The Patch Application view has been updated to embrace the new data table approach, already available in the Devices list view. This allows increased flexibility, and user experience.
Redesigned Cloud Plugin Management page with improved credentials management!
The cloud plugin management page has been redesigned for improving user experience, including better representation of the information regarding the various plugins. Moreover, credentials management has been streamlined on AWS by leveraging IAM roles, thus avoiding the potential need to manage a large number of credentials.
Note: IAM roles feature requires BigFix Platform version 10.0.4 or later.

Cloud-aware Patching available!
New Server-based groups can now be used in the WebUI to target actions. Server-based groups allow you to group correlated computers based on cloud attributes and properties. These groups can then be used to target actions that are to be performed by the BigFix agent, in particular the deployment of Patches and Patch Policies.
Server-based groups can be used with properties coming from any endpoint representation, including the ones discovered by the MCM plugin.
Note: this feature requires BigFix Platform version 10.0.4 or later.

Improved Device Report Exports Experience!
It is now possible to export all the device properties from your Device view, as well as to navigate away and return later when the export is complete.

Additional action management capability for Non-Master Operator within WebUI!
It is now possible for a Non-Master Operator (with assigned privileges) to stop actions issued by another Non-Master Operator within the WebUI.
Note: this feature requires BigFix Platform version 9.5.5 or later.

New Application support in WebUI Patch and Patch Policies!
Patch and Patch Policies now support the following applications from the Updates for Windows Applications site:

  • Webex Meetings Desktop App
  • Zoom
  • GoToMeeting Desktop App
  • .NET Core runtimes
