HCL BigFix is pleased to announce several key enhancements to BigFix Remote Control, designed to improve security, usability, and reliability for remote support and administration.
Elevate privileges to run command tools
Operators can now add custom command tools to the Controller and run them with elevated privileges. This enhancement allows execution of commands on the Target system even when the end user lacks sufficient permissions. The system now supports starting a process under a different user account with elevated rights, ensuring secure operations through a credential authorization panel.
Improved chat session experience
Users can now pin the chat session window directly into the main Controller interface for a more streamlined experience or choose to keep it as a separate, detached window for flexibility.
Customizable Controller window title
It is now possible to rename the Controller’s main window title, allowing easier identification when multiple sessions are active.
Automatic session re-establishment after manual reboot
When a manual reboot of the Target machine occurs, the Controller will automatically re-establish the remote session. This functionality is available for Windows Targets with the installed agent and is not supported for On Demand Targets.
Additional platform support
-
Added support for macOS 26 (Tahoe).
-
Added support for Windows 11 25H2.
