Remote Control issues after 10.1 FP4 upgrade

There used to be a task to deploy the target to computers. I cannot find it in this version. I only have the task to update target on computers.

Also information about the manufacturer, model, and serial number is missing in the table when you search for the computer.

Hello, the fixlets for deploying the targets are numbered 94 (MAC), 22 (Windows) and 18 (Linux) and they are present in Remote Control site #82. (Try to check if you have Show Not-Relevant Content” enabled in the BigFix console).

About your second question, sorry, by it’s not clear for me which table are you referring to. In the case you observe still the problem, could you please provide more info?

Kind regards

Hi,

I have enabled Show Non-Relevant and only see the previous version for Deploy Remote Control Target to Windows. I can see the Update Remote Control Target for Windows and using that to update existing computers. But for new computers I have to use the old task to deploy the target and then the new task to update it.

As for the table, it is in the Remote Control GUI where you see All Targets and it shows the make, model, and serial of the computers. Computers that have not reported to the server yet since the update still shows the info. Computers that reported after the update of the server shows blank for the 3 columns.

You may have some other problem going on in your deployment then. Can you check that your Remote Control is at site version 82?
If your server has gathered the site, the old version of the Deploy fixlets should not be present at all, only the latest version is present on mine.

I think it's likely your deployment has not gathered the new site, perhaps you need to check proxy or the GatherDBData log files. If there is nothing obvious there, you should probably open a support incident.

I found it as it was hidden. I had to unhide it. Not sure how it got that way.

As for the information missing, computer make, model, and serial, do you know if this is a bug? I am referring to the table in Remote Control when you see All Targets. It used to show the info, now it is blank. The computers that didn’t report in yet after the update still shows the info.

I'm afraid I'm not sure....since you're in a Release Announcement thread, you should probably start a new topic so this gets attention, or better yet open a Support Ticket so the team can see what you describe.

Actually I've moved it to a new topic for you...hopeful this should get attention from the RC team.

Thank you for your assistance. Appreciate it.

I can’t add a screenshot here, but hopefully this info helps. There used to be info for each PC in All Targets for the fields below. After the upgrade, it is all blank for PCs that reported to the server. PCs that didn’t report yet still shows the data. I feel it is a bug, unless other users of this version are not having this issue.

Hello, there is a known problem about this topic, already tracked with an internal defect, and the current plan is to deliver the fix in the next release.

Thanks for reporting the issue. Kind regards

Thank you for the information. I have opened a support ticket last week and support was making me go through many things to troubleshoot. I keep insisting it is a bug in this version. Should I let them know you mentioned it is already tracked internally? It seems support doesn’t know about this problem.

Thank you. I have just informed the support team this is a recognized issue. They probably will open a Defect Article associated with your ticket.

Thank you. I will update the support ticket to let them know. They are still investigating the issue.

Out of curiosity, would you happen to know when the next patch is coming out that would resolve this issue?

Today, we are going to publish a refresh site of 10.1 FP4 to resolve this issue.
The new version number will be 10.1.0.0442

Thank you for the update. I will try patching it later today and let you know the results.

I like to report that this patch fixed the issue. The info is back again. Thank you for your quick actions.
