My machine was recently reimaged and I am running Win7 and Office 2010 Beta.

Same configuration, no changes as I had before. I had previously used the Excel connector extensively, albeit with minor annoyances at launch of excel.

I have just reinstalled the Excel connector, and its a no-show in Excel. When I look at COM Add-ins, it is listed as available, but Load Behavior: Not loaded. A runtime error occurred during the loading of the COM Add-in.

Any suggestions? or assistance?

I don’t have Office 2010. Maybe someone else can help us determine if this is a general Office 2010 issue.

Does anyone else have Win7 and Office 2010?

Thank you. Downloaded just fine. Installed, but not showing up as an add-in, in Excel 2007. I previously had Excel 2003 and the connector worked just fine, but haven’t used in a very long time. I then upgraded to excel 2007, but still hadn’t used connector (forgot about it). On first install today, it said it already existed. I removed via add/removed applet, then reinstalled; still nothing?

Please try the following and see if it fixes your problem. The previous installation might have caused the issue.

  • Uninstall the add-in from Add/Remove Program
  • Delete the following Registries:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\AddIns\BigFixExcelConnector.AddinModule\CommandBars

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\AddIns\BigFixExcelConnector.AddinModule\Controls

  • Reinstall the add-in again using the MSI.

A co-worker gave me the following to try but nothing/same results:

  1. Uninstall the addin from Add/Remove program

  2. Remove the following registries from the login user:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\AddIns\BigFixExcelConnector.AddinModule\CommandBars

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\AddIns\BigFixExcelConnector.AddinModule\Controls

  1. Reinstall the addin again.

Thought I found issue. It was disable add-in. However. I activated it, restarted excel–nothing. :slight_smile:

I removed the add-in. and uninstalled again, reg keys weren’t there, then I reinstalled. Still nothing.

Add-in is there, but not activated. If I click on checkbox to activate and click ok, and go back in, it’s unchecked again. It won’t stay checked.

got it!

I was using the COM add-in manager, which should have worked. But there’s a 4th option for disabled add-in where you can force excel to turn it on. It said the add-in was preventing excel from working, but there’s option to override. I did. works!

The Excel Connector creates an installation file located at:

XP: Documents and Settings$USER$\My Documents\Add-in Express\adxloader.log

Vista/Win7: Users$USER$\Documents\Add-in Express\adxloader.log

What mjbennett9 posted is a successful and working installation output.

Getting an error now that I moved to Office 2010.

For full disclosure, I also still have 2003 on my machine, and I’m running XP SP3

My error is:

Don’t know why I did not upload and publish this earlier - there is a new version that I have upgraded to support Office/Excel 2010.

Maybe because I have not had the chance to work on some enhancements planned, as well as to get the connector to work with Excel 2010 64-bit.

Uninstall the current version, then reinstall this one. It will say version 2.0.

Does version 2.0 not work with 2003? Nothing opens up Works great with 2010

Also, I get random folks - including myself, who have a problem where when they close out of Excel, it pops up a window saying that it crashed, and do I want to restart Excel. Any clue why? Is something not being released in a timely manner when closing? I tried to do a clean uninstall, and re-install, but as the tool bar is still showing up, I don’t believe I succeeded.

Lee, I noticed the vesion of the connector on the Labs site is 1.4, but 2.0 is here in the forums. Just an FYI.
