The IBM BigFix team is releasing version 9.5.1 (9.5.1.9) of the BigFix Platform. The main purpose of this release is to address an issue with BigFix Windows clients that primarily arises in the integration with Core Protection applications.
This release includes all Platform components.
This release also includes some additional fixes. The full changelist is available at:
The 9.5.1 client seems to work pretty well together with Core Protection server module. It does not stop all the time anymore. But, there is a wired issue where it seems that the main server is not online because it get often “grey”, even you are using the console on the server. The time between each report from the client seems to be to long, or may the gather service is not working properly.
I have already discussed with the BigFix Support the issue with the audit trailer - It’s a known issues that is a known issue that it do not clean up errors recognized by the “Download Status Report”
I apologize is this is the wrong place to ask this but I’m new to the whole Big Fix thing.
I have Big Fix installed on windows, just one server and console with 16 clients.
My question is that I see the Upgrade for the clients fixlet and it’s relevant to all 16 clients. However, the server fixlet, “IBM BigFix - Updated Platform Server Components version 9.5.1 Now Available!” doesn’t show any relevant clients.
I’m on version 9.5.0.311 for the server, console and clients. Everything except the 15 Linux clients are on the same server. This install is less than a week old.
The 15 clients are relevant for 9.5.1 but the server (and it’s Windows client) doesn’t seem to be. It’s always been a basic rule of thumb that clients can’t be a newer version than their server
