iSeries support for ILMT

Hello, I have been searching for information regarding the ILMT/BigFix support for IBM i (iSeries, AS/400).
ILMT 9.x does not provide support for clients on iSeries. It is recommended to use ILMT 7.5 instead.

IBM License Metric Tool version 7.2.2 and 7.5 will withdrawn support in September 2016 and April 2017 respectively.

According to the the ILMT/BigFix FAQ, ILMT v9.x will support IBM i Q1 2016. The lastest version of ILMT does not reference any support for IBM i. Any news regarding this?

What is the recommendations for ILMT when the customer also have IBM i servers in their environment and the support for 7.x will be withdrawn in a near future, ILMT 7.5 a year from now.?

LMT 9.2.3:

  • iSeries support for IBM product discovery and subcapacity licensing reporting. The feature is currently delivered as a supported limited availability feature.

How can I find the technical information to implement the limited iSeries support for ILMT for 9.2.3 as I have looked in the documentation and cannot find reference how to set this up. Can you provide the details where to find the install process?

I am reading the documentation and is the following required

Enabling the discovery on IBM i systems
The discovery on IBM i systems is disabled by default. You can enable this feature by selecting an option
in the License Metric Tool user interface.
Procedure

  1. Go to https://LMT_hostname:port/management/beta_feature.
  2. Select the (Beta) Standalone Inventory check box.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Restart the server.

Yes it is. This is how you enable it.

I really hope that IBM will eventually support automatic scans for “IBM i”, because I do not enjoy the process of disconnected scans. I also have a PMR, 06688,122,000, open where the disconnected scans for “IBM i” are not working.

Hi all,
I have configured the ILMT 9.2.3 server in a Windows environment with agents in IBM iSeries (beta version) I have the following situation :

I uploaded two files of different day, the information is not updated.

The first file had software that do not use so I removed ( WAS).

The next day run the scan , send the zip file to the server but the information is not updated.
What should I consider ?

Another question , in some partitions have installed Host Ondemand 11.0 and 10.0 but not shown as installed software on those partitions .
Someone can help me on this? Thanks in advanced

I attended a IBM event last Monday that showed new feature as of 9.2.4 to add preview features. the information also stated the features were almost GA ready and IBM support would support them. The question is , is iSeries considered the same and that IBM Support now supports PMR associated to this. I have a BES Announcement that stated iSeries is released in a limited form. I have a customer that is reluctant to install iSeries due to support. Is there any information regarding this and is their a road map for this?

How can IBM withdraw support for version 7.5 when the iSeries agent is still in Beta? I can’t move my entire environment to only find out that the iSeries is not working as expected. There are licensing ramifications to IBM’s position here. Additionally, I’d like to move to FNMS vs. BigFix. What is the process for that?
