I have been using the “MS Patch Status Report” and I’m starting question the accuracy of the data. I only have about 1300 computers in my whole system (1500 host license). How can it be reporting on almost twice that amount?
Patch Name Computers Patched Computers Relevant Total Computers
To check if you are aggregating multiple databases, log into web reports and look at the “Database” option in the top nav bar. You should only see one computer.
The report is not reporting the number of computers, but rather the number of fixlets. MS08-069 for example can be relevant more than once on a single host. So if you have five computer, the report may state that you have nine computers. Can the report be corrected to treat multiple instances of a fixlet on a single host as a count of one?
If you click on each of the links in the first post in this thread, you will be directed to other threads. Read these and, for the most part (I think there is one exception) the custom report is an attachment to the first post on those threads. The reports usually have a filetype of besrpt.
You are probably best off reading the threads as some of the reports have since been deprecated -you might notice that this thread is three and a half years old now!
