i am facing issue with Linux Agent. When I am pushing the patch file to the linux machine, the machines never beings to patch. Getting the status as “NOT REPORTED” in the IEM Console.
The logs from the linux agent shows “winsock –8 error”. I have configured and enabled linux download plugin. Able to deploy these patches on identical machine but not on this machine.
Below are the Description of the error :
Error Code : -8
Error Name : err_SOCKET_CONNECT
Reason : The IP address of the IEM Server is found, but the connection could not be established
Error posting report to: http://dns_name:52311/cgi-bin/bfenterprise/PostResults.exe
This in an indication that a IEM Client cannot post results to its parent (Root Server). There are multiple causes for this, please check the following :
• In your internet browser, check to see if that URL resolves correctly by going to it directly.
• Confirm that port 52311 is not blocked.
• Ensure that ‘dns_name’ resolves to the IEM Server from the computer.
• Check to see if the FillDB folder on the IEM Server is full. Clients cannot post if the FillDB folder is backed up. If the client can register with the parent but not post results, then it is likely that the FillDB folders are full.
