I have done some work to remediate my Win servers to thier applicable baselines. I did a force reboot on these servers. However, it appears that a number of Windows 2000 servers did not reboot, and I am curious if anyone else has experienced this.
Hmm… There was a known issue in early versions of 7.x where if the BESClientUI was failing, the restart would get skipped, but that was fixed a long time ago…
It might be an issue if the computer has a user logged in and if you look at the computer’s console, you will see an OS dialog that requires you click OK before restarting… here is some info:
The SkipVoluntaryRestart is supposed to be set on all servers so you shouldn’t see this issue, but old versions of the MSI installer didn’t set it properly.
