Windows Software Distribution Folder used by BigFix?

Does BigFix use the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\ folder for anything? We have WSUS running in the environment (as backup just in case and for manual patchers) and I know it and Windows Update uses that folder, but was curious if BigFix does too. From what I can tell, it doesn’t seem to.

The reason I ask is because for space reasons, I run a prescript to clear that folder to make room for updates so they’ll install successfully for servers that are on the edge of success and failure due to disk space. And at the end I want to clear the folder again with a post action since those updates will have been installed and won’t be needed on the servers anymore.

I know, I can clear the folder later after patching, but I figured I’d just clear it at the time of patching right before rebooting.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,

BigFix is self contained and will download the updates to the c:\program files (x86)\BESClient directory.
