Hi ,

In our enviornment we have requirement for inventory gathering which includes all windows and non windows platforms like Solaris,RedHat Linux,HP-UX,AIX. I am trying to get below properties retrived via IBM EndPoint Manager via relevance but unable to get it.Could you help us to develope the relevance for the same (if possible via relevance) :

Note : i have searched inspector engines, relevance guides and inspector guides for all the below mentioned attributes but have not found any thing helpfull. All the below mentioned required properties are for windows as well as non widows platform.

processor_upgrade of processor_information of – gives me value 4.can someone help me in explain me the meaning of these value as i am looking to get values like “ZIf socket,LIF socket, none, daughter board etc…”

Some of this info can be found from the built in analyses and from these:

thanks jgstew…i am able to grab part number, processor ,cpu and asset infomrtaion using the analysis link which you have provided.

could you help us in retriving rest of the properties mentioned in my post.

also i am trying to get below properties for windows and nonwindows:

  1. CurrentState of computer system – output should be – up , down , scheduled down

  2. installdate of MemoryDevice,networkadapter,CacheMemory,OS

  3. SystemDirectory of operating system

(imported comment written by jgstew)

  1. Not really easy, might not be possible, but could use “last report time” as an indicator. This would likely have to be done through webreports, not relevance.

  2. Installdate of Hardware would be very hard and could not be for certain. You can track ram size if it changes to detect additions and removals. OS install date is possible, and is already out there for Windows if you look on bigfix.me

  3. (system folder)

thansk a lot jgstew.

Could you pleas elet me know out of the properties mentioned in my orginal post how many are possible via TEM?

Also could you guide us in developing relevance for the same (for windows and nonwidows enviornment).

There isn’t an easy answer to this question as far as what is possible with TEM (aka BigFix or IEM)

There is what is possible just using relevance inspectors, but then there is what is possible using anything that can be run on the command line, output to a file, then the results read with relevance. Anything that cannot be done with the first option can usually be done with the second.

The added complication is that some of these may be done using relevance directly in one OS, but require a different solution in another depending on what inspectors are available.

Many of the items you are looking for already exist either within analyses provided by IBM or shared through
http://bigfix.me/

I’m not aware of a way to read input voltage / current. Most of the others seem possible.

You can look through the inspectors here:
