Windows 7 embedded tips?

Does anyone have any good tips for managing Windows 7 embedded devices with BigFix? I have zero experience with this and very little with Windows embedded at all. Our company just inherited some devices from a vendor that we now own with embedded and I would like to install the agent on them and do…well …whatever you can do with an embedded machine.

Does the embedded OS lock the computer down so you can’t install the agent on it? Do I need to run a command to “unlock” the computer so I can make changes and then run another command that “relocks” the computer?

Thanks!

It really depends on what (if any) customization was performed on the OS image. Ours work like standard windows machines even though they are very locked down. Once the bes client is running, we have full control.

Ok thanks. I guess the only way I’m really going to find out is to try it haha.

LOL, yeah, that would be the fast way. As long as you can install the msi, it “should” run as local system and give you full control.
