Windows 21H1 ISO file

Hi, it seems need to manually cache the Windows 21H1 ISO file into the sha1 folder in the root server. I have downloaded the ISO file from Microsoft site and https:// /download-windows-10-21h1/, however the file doesnt match.

Queries:

  1. Pls advise where do you guys download the right 21H1 ISO file?

Taken from the fixlet:

I took the third party link out of your post, and take care in case you got a malicious copy of the ISO.

Generally one would download the ISO through the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (microsoft.com/vlsc), or from an MSDN subscription (visualstudio.com)

Both require a subscription and do not allow us to redistribute per their agreent, which is why you must download it manually.

Thanks Jason. Appreciate your advice.

Your advice is much better than HCL Support which couldn’t let me know where to download the right ISO file.

Thanks once again.

I am not sure if you own BigFix lifecycle but it could make your life easier with the feature updates or in-place upgrades. This will use all of the iso files in your image library and then allow you to deploy them without manually caching. One of the more powerful features of this is you can deploy the upgrade in check only mode ahead of time to check for errors. This will also precache the files on the machine to run the upgrade in a second step which will give a better experience for the end user. I did a guide on how to run in-place upgrades here https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/windows-in-place-upgrades-brad-sexton/
