What exactly is a client dashboard?

(imported topic written by Bill.Ehardt)

I’ve seen links on creating them, a support article on how to create one… but I don’t have any idea really what they do or are for?

Are there any example pages that show what they are? Is this something that can be viewed on the client, as opposed to the console?

I found out a bit more… but is there a way to “enable” these?

I’m testing it out so far with this:

Name: <?relevance computer name ?>

Last updated: <?relevance now ?>

with no luck… its just showing blank for name/updated.

I have a Fixlet posted here that might be useful.

It will turn on the client dashboard, as well as giving you an example.

What is Technician mode, and how do I get to it?

Or is this just another option of a dashboard

Its another dashboard tab with a lot more in depth info. You press Ctl, Alt, Shift and T.

Technically, the dashboard displays an HTML page name “_dashboard.html”, and the technician mode looks for the file “_technician.html”.

These files are meant to be custom created, they do not come with the system. So the ones you see from my Fixlet are merely my examples.
