My company ask me to do the website blockage using Bigfix, is it possible? other than using the host file? If so, can you share with me?

Hi Zen,

There is no native capability to do web site blocking. Maybe you can find a way to instruct the system to block web pages and use BigFix to distribute this command, but I don’t know how to do it.

Or you can look at our Trend Micro based CPM solution which has a “web reputation” module

you could modify your etc host file to have it go to some bogus IP…

Not sure if you can just license the Web Reputation componant of the CPM module (would have to inquire on that). But with desktop Web Reputation you can then create black and white list policies.
