Warning: BES Server no longer supported on Operating System

I now have the above message on my BES Server so need to know the process for getting it supported. I believe I have to build a brand new server for the system. What other tweaks do I need to do?

There are different requirements based on the IEM/BigFix version you are currently running (and plan to run), but ultimately you will likely want to perform a migration to a new (supported) system/platform. The following link outlines the steps and requirements to perform a hardware migration of the Server: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/community/wikis/home?lang=en#!/wiki/Tivoli%20Endpoint%20Manager/page/Server%20Migration?section=Hardware

To assist with the updated requirements, what version are you currently running (and/or plan to run)?

Thanks for the reply.

We are running 9.0.853.0 currently but more than happy to move up to the latest version.

I presume also I wont receive anymore Microsoft fixlets until we do upgrade?

I believe this message is seen when the Server’s OS is running on any of the following which are no longer supported in the current release (and so you will not be able to upgrade IEM on the older platform):

Windows XP Base/SP1/SP2 (Pre 9.0.777.0)
Windows 2003 Base/SP1 (Pre 9.0.777.0)
Windows XP-64 Base/SP1 (Pre 9.0.777.0)
Windows XP SP3 (9.1)
Windows 2003 SP2 (9.1)
Windows XP-64 SP2 (9.1)
Windows (Any) 32-bit (9.1)

Note that v9.2 introduces a new requirement that Server components run on 64-bit systems/OSes (including the Root Server, Web Reports, as well as the Console).

There are a number of handy Fixlets in the BES Support site around OS Support that I’d recommend reviewing:

712 - WARNING: BES Client no longer supported onyour Operating System
1830 - WARNING: BES Relay no longer supported on your Operating System
1831 - WARNING: BES Server no longer supported on your Operating System
1832 - WARNING: BES Console no longer supported on your Operating System
1833 - WARNING: BES Web Reports no longer supported on your Operating System

Also, I wouldn’t expect that this would prevent you from receiving Fixlets in your current environment.
