Hi, I was wonder if anyone has an opinion on using a vulernability scanner like securnia with BigFix patch managment? Would you consider Bigfix to have the functionality of both? Thoughts? We don’t currently have the security and vulnerability managment offering. I also know that securnia is more comprehensive. Is there a way to manage the downloading and installing of the patches/fixes found through a vuln scanner and have them push to bigfix clients.

Hi wuzzle,

BigFix knows about the patchable vulnerabilities already (it doesn’t need an input feed from the scanner). Also, BigFix Agents will keep your server up-to-date about changes on the systems in real-time and there isn’t any need to periodically run scans.

Hopefully, other people will pitch in their opinions about BigFix vs. security scanners.
