VM Manager Test Connection failing - SOLVED

I’ve configured a VM Manager connection, the, I’ve added the host to the proxy exclusion list, but I’m getting 404 errors in the logs, I’ve tried both:
https://:9443/sdk/vimService.wsdl
and
https://:9443/sdk

I’m told this is VSphere 5.5 - is there something they may have to configure or enable on VShpere?

UPDATE: was a bad URL - they have vcenter listening on a non-standard port, webservice using standard 443.
