Version number from Solaris 11

Hello,

I am using this relevance version of pkginfos whose (it as string contains “chef”) of pkgdb as string to gather the package version from the SunOS 10 but the same is not working on SunOS11.

Any suggestion, how to gather the version from Solaris 11?

Hi, pkginfos is SRV4 format packaging which on Solaris 10 was the only one available but for Solaris 11 they did add a secondary (IPS), so it is a question as to which packaging it is installed with (pkg or p5p)? Here are the inspectors for IPS packages: https://developer.bigfix.com/relevance/reference/ips-package.html

I don’t have a machine to test it on but try something like:
(version of it as string) of packages whose (name of it contains “chef”) of ips repo

@ageorgiev thanks for your reply.
below one also not working.
(version of it as string) of packages whose (name of it contains “chef”) of ips repo

I don’t have solaris machines to test this on but make sure you run the actual native Solaris pkg commands for SRV4 & IPS packages per the Oracle KB and see if you find the installed package and which methodology it was installed with. Once you do we can troubleshoot the actual relevances further. Right now it’s like shooting blind and hoping something hits…
