Version 8 - Snooze Option on Post Action Unavailable

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

Hello,

Since our upgrade to V8 - it appears (at least for our install) that the Snooze option for a post action is no longer available/working. We have tried all the scenerios for a post action and the Snooze button is there on the client pop up window - however it is grayed out. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Cheers,

Mike

This is strange. The “snooze” option for an action is available today. Anyone else run into that on v8?

This is now an interrmintant issue. It appears the snooze option is only available every other day. Should I place a support call or is it a known issue? Thanks.

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the report. We’re currently investigating this, and I’ll let you know when we know more.

Hi Mike,

I can’t reproduce the behavior you are describing. Could you send me a copy of the action.fxf files from the BES Client for a couple of actions that you are having problems with? A screen shot of the console description would be helpful too to see how what options you are choosing. Can you reproduce the behavior?

Hi Tyler,

The funny thing is that I can and can’t reproduce it. Today it’s working fine. Yesterday morning it was an issue. Seems to sporadically be available. As soon as I can reproduce will get the info. Will also try on some different agents. I believe I was seeing this on version 8 clients. But I need to verify.

Ok, thank you Mike. Checking the agent version is a good idea, could be actions issued in 8.0 behave differently on the 7.2 agents or something like that. I would start tracking a few variables to try to isolate the issue:

  1. OS Version.

  2. BES Client Version.

  3. Action ID

  4. Machines where incorrect behavior is observed

  5. Time the problem occurred

  6. BES Client logs from computers with the problem (the __BESData directory is good to have too).

Is it possible that the action reached the expiration time period and thus can’t be snoozed any longer?

Will do. Thanks. No on the expirattion time - because as soon as the end user receives the pop up window the Snooze button is already “greyed” out - but the timer is counting down. But I will check on 1-6 details too. Thanks!
