Hi chass,

Our material around custom reports today is only reference material. As mentioned in other posts, we do not yet have guides or training classes to support custom reports training, although it is something that there seems to be a lot of interest in so we are looking at that closely. I would look around on this forum for lots of great information about building custom reports.

To answer your question about. “Creation Methods” are for creating “objects” in relevance. For instance, if you go to your Web Reports QNA:

http://server:port/cgi-bin/besreports/BESReports.exe?page=QNA

You can type in something like:

number of hidden bes actions

or

names of hidden bes actions whose (computer group flag of it)

In these cases, you are “creating” reporting objects with “properties”.

You then embed these in a custom report. For instance, if you go to your custom report tab, you can insert something like this:

Test Report

Number of hidden bes actions is: <?Relevance number of hidden bes actions?>

Names of computer group actions is: <?Relevance names of hidden bes actions whose (computer group flag of it)?>

Look around the forum for more examples.

Thanks for the reply Ben.

there is 1 more doubt in this, where and how can i know and find the name/attributes of the object. with the example that you have given,

how do i know there is a ‘name’, ‘source’, ‘source ID’? is there a list of the attributes that i can use?

Hey chass,

In the BES Session Inspector guide that you reference above, each object has “Properties”. For instance, if you look on page 24, you will see that the “bes action” object has dozens of properties… for instance, the first one is:

action dependency of bes action
