Upgrading Windows 10

Hi All,

I am fairly new in BigFix.
Just a question if we can upgrade Windows 10 build without OSD License?
We have license for System Lifecycle but seems it is the basic one and just supports Asset Discovery.
Thanks,

If you have Lifecycle then you have OS Deployment, in fact you have everything except Compliance, just about. Have you seen Operating System Deployment Basics? It’s an older version but should help you get started.

Hi, you can find different ways to install and upgrade Windows 10 in “OS Deployment and Bare Metal Imaging” site that is part of Lifecycle

Thanks for the reply
I have checked it. I believe there are two OSD Licenses

  1. LCM starter kit - Patch, Software Distribution, Asset Discovery.
  2. LCM full kit - 1 + OSD, Remote Control, Power Management
    we have the first one

Thanks for the comment
Do you have any guide or link for that?

There are fixlets in the “Patches for Windows” site you can use for in-place upgrades for Business editions (Pro, Enterprise, Education) of Windows 10 builds.

Check the Description for instructions - you have to download the ISO from your MS VLSC account and manually cache them on your server, direct downloads are not available.

Search the Fixlets for things like “20H1 Available” or “20H2 Available” for example.
