"Undo" option like TCM?

Hi

we are in a roject to migrate TCM to IEM
so it is questioned that IEM had an option “Undo” like TCM ?

TCM has ability to rollback package to old version by selection the option Undo while creating packages.
So it can create rollback commands itself.

How is this done in IEM ?

What OS or platform?

IEM does not have a built in way to do this as far as I know. On windows, this is package dependent, except for MSIs which can be uninstalled in the same way in the majority of cases. I have built a task in IEM that will create an uninstaller for all MSI installed software on a system which would allow you to “roll” them back.

The same could be done for other package types potentially.

Also, I don’t have any experience with TCM so I don’t really understand how it’s roll back feature worked.

As @jgstew suggests, there are some built-in mechanisms depending on the OS/platform. For Microsoft patches for instance, we have a Rollback Task Wizard: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21505984, http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21505839
