Ubuntu patches broken, 08-2023 content - syxtax errors

Hello,

We just got this against the whole payload we sent to two machines… it seems there are syntax errors in the august 2023 payload for Ubuntu 20.04…

Will the fixlets be replaced?

Can you please provide the Fixlet IDs?
And please make sure to open a Support Ticket

for example: 23082670

specific line:

Yeah…the Linux Fixlets that use download plug-ins are a bit more complicated. This doesn’t necessarily mean there’s actually a syntax error in the Fixlet, but that the dependency resolution that runs to generate the package dependency download list is failing.

That can happen if the debianpackage installations are inconsistent, or packagelock is blocking a package upgrade, or probably a few other things.

At that point there should be some useful in at /var/opt/BESClient/EDRDeployData or related EDR directories.

If there’s nothing obvious in those logs, we can step through it with you in a support ticket

Hi Jason, thanks, we’ll have a look, the main thing is that all fixlets failed, on different systems, we’ve never had patching issues before with these systems.
