Turn off System Restore

I am looking for a way to turn off Windows system restore and to remove previous restore points. Does any one have an Idea of how to do this?

Well, to disable it you could create a registry entry. Follow the

instructions here.

You can use the Windows Registry Wizard in the BigFix Console to create the registry entry.

To remove restore points in Vista you can use the

vssadmin

tool (and wrap it with a BigFix Action). Not sure if vssadmin is applicable to XP.
