After I’ve installed the TRC server (using the TRC installer), I cannot log in to the TRC server.
When I try, I get the error: A Database connection error has occured.
I’ve chosen the ‘automated installation’, with a remote DB (SQL server 2008).
I also made a new database, with SA permissions for the TRC user, and downloaded the sqljdbc driver.
Is there somewhere a log where I can see what’s going on? Because after the installation was completed ‘succesfully’ (according to the installer), nothing had changed on the TRC database (there also weren’t any log entries in the SQL server log).
So I’m guessing there is something wrong with the connection to the database.
It does seem there is a problem with your DB connection. This could be caused by an authentication error, or perhaps an issue with the drivers. You mention you have downloaded the sqljdbc driver, perhaps he path to the drver was not specified correctly?
You will find debugging information in the trc.log(in C:\Program Files\IBM\Tivoli\TRC\server)
The trc.log file should be at C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Tivoli\TRC\server in a default Windows installation. If the file there is empty you can also check the contents of the messages.log file at C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Tivoli\TRC\server\wlp\usr\servers\trcserver\logs. That file should also show more details about the reason why the connection to the database is failing.
