Tivoli Remote Control and TEM integration

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

I’ve both product installed, the TEM 8.1 and TRC 5.1.2, but it is possible to view on the TRC console the targets distributed with TEM ?

Thanks in advice.

Hi,

Yes, this should be fine – note that you’ll need to use the “Server URL” field when you configure the targets that you distribute with TEM.

OK good, i’ve found a task to do this.

But now i’ve another problem… When start the remote control from TRCConsole.jar setting proxy and usign user/passwd the remote control session dosen’t start…and on the server I receve this :

11-mag-2011,15:15:22

WebContainer : 0

INFO

  • Received request to validate session with token:

NO TOKEN

for target id

9314130617e4927864555f3df5199b26

where controller has IP

http://10.10.6.166

and MAC

00:50:56:bf:13:7c

11-mag-2011,15:15:22

WebContainer : 0

INFO

  • Session rejected because a session with the provided token can’t be found for the provided target

And from the web interface work fine.

Thanks

Bye

Hi,

By default when the Target is deployed so it’s managed by a TRC server, it only accepts sessions that have originated and are managed by the server. This is why it doesn’t work if you just open the controller and connect to the target directly but it does if you start the session from the TRC server.

You can configure the target to also accept sessions that are not managed by the server with the configuration parameter AllowP2P, which you can do through the Configuration Wizard.

One thing to keep in mind is that if AllowP2P is enabled, the policies that apply to all unmanaged sessions come from the target configuration and also, since there is no interaction with the TRC server at all, there will be no information recorded about the unmanaged session there.

Dear JackCoates91,

Could you please tell me that what is the exact “Server URL” I need to specify when I am installing trc target using tem fixlet and task?

Should I provide only IP address of TRC server or complete url like http://trcserver.test.com/trc ?

Basically what I did is I have made TEM server as TRC gateway for existing TRC server.

Now I really want to deploy all trc target from TEM server fixlet and task and see all target information in my TRC server as well as TRC gateway server i.e my TEM server and also able to take remote session from TRC gateway console .

I bit confuse that that exactly Server URL should I provide for TRC target installation, I mean only IP address of TRC gateway or complete url.

Any kind of help is highly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

You should provide the URL, as in your example it should be http://trcserver.test.com/trc/callHome. The callHome part shouldn’t be needed but it’s the actual URL used, so I’d use it like that.

Hope that helps.
