TEM power management

(imported topic written by Miran_p91)

Hello

Using power management I can’t analyze win2008r2 machines. So far I only tested win2003 which is applicable, any idea why 2008r2 is not? Also wake on lan is not working for me. I installed plug-in, enabled wake on lan medic, but I think I don’t have the correct settings set. http://support.bigfix.com/cgi-bin/kbdirect.pl?id=1643 – I get this link and I’m not sure what to do, how to create web report user. Could someone explain this to me more simple way?

Thank you

Hi Miran_p,

Our Power Management product does not currently support Windows 2000 R2 systems, which is why the Power content is not showing as applicable on those systems. Do you have many servers running this OS for which you would like to track power data, or does this just happen to be your main BigFix server?

If you’ve never launched Web Reports before, you can access it through the Console by going to the Tools menu and then to Launch Web Reports. This should bring you to a Web Reports page where you should be prompted to create a user account. Once you create a user account, follow the steps in the KB article you referenced to input the web reports username, password, and URL into the registry.

If you have any issues, please reach out to our Support team to help you through the process.

Cheers,

Naveed

In my lab TEM is runing on win 2008 SP2 but clients are deployed on:

4x 2008 R2

2x 2003 SP2 (one of this is virtual)

1x XP (virtual)

But only applicable are win 2003 and I get that on of them is virtual as a warning which is ok. Is there a way to change this, to have more applicable computers?

Plugin is now runing as it should, but wake on lan is not. Forwarders are deployed, WOL Medic enabled but using wizard or right click, nothing happens.

Now I have this problem as well http://forum.bigfix.com/viewtopic.php?pid=29387#p29387
