TEM deployment interreupted by reboot initiated by wuauclt.exe

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

Hello All,

I’m investigating an issue that recently occurred on one of our critical workstations during a TEM deployment. The deployment included many Microsoft updates. It was also configured as an offer, and soon after the offer was accepted by the user and had began to run, the computer was rebooted by the wuauclt.exe process (Windows Update). This reboot occurred outside of the TEM deployment action, so when the computer came back online the client resumed the deployment from where it had been interrupted, resulting in a second reboot initiated by the TEM agent.

We haven’t seen this (or heard any reports of this) happen on any of our other workstations in our environment, and I am curious if anyone in the community has experienced this. Are there any settings or group policies/best practices that we should be following to ensure that wuauclt.exe does not attempt to restart workstations during TEM deployments?

Thanks in advance.
