TEM and Tivoli remote control

(imported topic written by Miran_p91)

Hello

I installed Tivoli endpoint manager and now I want to include Tivoli remote control. Where do I get External Site Masthead or what I need to configure? If Tivoli remote control was pre-installed on same OS, would this function be included by default?

Thank you

Tivoli Remote Control site is included in TEM for Lifecycle Management license - so it just has to be enabled on License Overview dashboard in BigFix Management domain (and you have to subscribe clients to it). The appropriate tasks and dashboards will then show up in the Lifecycle Domain (there are several install/uninstall tasks for TRC targets and controllers on Windows/Linux, several analysis to enable, a dashboard and TRC configuration wizard that enables you to change settings on TRC targets

If you have TRC targets already installed on some clients they should be discovered by analysis. However the TRC version included in TEM is for peer-to-peer mode only - so it will not use nor install TRC server

When you install TRC controller on the client with TEM Console it will create right-click option to start TRC session from Computers list

You can find more detailed documentation here:

Hope it helps

We are in the middle of a patch rollout and I can’t update our BES server at this time (change management). I know at one point a beta was available for testing, will this work on our current v8.0 system or will I just have to wait until we are on v8.1?

Hi,

I have tested it with 8.0.627 and seems to work fine - so 8.1 is not prerequisite. If you have enabled beta site you have to disable it before using current version - otherwise Tivoli Remote Control Overview dashboard throws an error.

I think I’ll just wait untill we upgrade. I went ahead and upgrade our test VM BES server and got over my curiosity. Thanks!
