Hi Guys,
I’m trying to get SUA working but it won’t initiate a scan because of relevance 8 and it appears the catalog.xml files are missing on the endpoints. Anyone know why this might be?
Thanks,
Peter

Hi,
What version of SUA are you using, windows or linux, db2 or ms sql?
9.2 RedHat db2.
Peter
I’m currently building a new SUA server in parallel on Windows and sql server.
Hi MichalPaluch,
If I can get a break down of what processes are doing what and their log locations and I would prefer to keep SUA on Linux if possible. For example S95SUAserver is that handling pulling data from root as well as the web applications. How does the catalog get from the SUA interface to the endpoints? usage for a working environment is documented well however how it all works appears to be lacking. I am very familiar with IEM Endpoint Manager and know every configuration, log and process I can’t say the same for SUA. I overwrote relevance on the initiate scan task and deployed it on Friday and the Analyses populated in the console but nothing is getting back to SUA. In SUA is says last seen on the endpoints(also many have been added and aren’t showing there) as 2 months yet they are reporting fine to root.
Thanks,
Peter
@pdentremont:
For missing catalog.xml please check this article in SUA doc:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSKLLW_9.2.0/com.ibm.tem.sua.doc_9.2/SUA_9.2/com.ibm.license.mgmt.doc/probdet/t_updating_cit_catalogs.html
When building new SUA, please make sure the old one is not used in parallel - it would be not supported coexistence scenarios:

@pdentremont
After successful catalog import, SUA sends “Catalog Download” action to IEM server which propagates catalog.xml to all endpoints.
Please, check edu materials o SUA wiki about software inventory:

Hi Peter,
So no sign of this happening and nothing of relevance in any logs. I even built a new server on Windows and shutdown my RedHat SUA box. The initial import seems to work but catalog doesn’t seem to be downloading.
Peter
Please, follow the article I mentioned before:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSKLLW_9.2.0/com.ibm.tem.sua.doc_9.2/SUA_9.2/com.ibm.license.mgmt.doc/probdet/t_updating_cit_catalogs.html
I tried mentioned link but its showing not found or link might have changed now, can you please update.
@pdentremont are you able to resolve this issue, as same issue thing I am facing in ILMT configuration & relevance 8 is falling due to unavailability of catalog.xml
Ok I solved it, in my case same issue was there catalog file were missing from endppoints. What i did is download the fixlet catalog download from catalog upload section & initiate action on all endpoints and inresults to that initiate software scan start getting relevant.
However as per ibm ILMT wiki & other referred documents this catalog download fixlet will automatically populated once you upload the latest catalog file & start import in ilmt web portal, somehow that was not happening.
If automatic catalog propagation fails for some reason on endpoint, it is not ran again for that endpoint within same action.
If that was first catalog propagation ever, it will cause initiate software scan to be not relevant, if this is just another update, initiate software scan will work with older catalog.
