Storing client values on non-Windows clients

So all client setting values are stored in the registry in Win machines, where do they get stored for other OSes, primarily Mac OS X and Linux?

On a Mac they are in

/Library/Preferences/com.bigfix.BESAgent.plist

I don’t have a Linux client in front of me but I believe the path is

/var/opt/BESClient/besclient.config

Another related question:

I have a task for Windows that will manually remove a system from a Manual Group, by removing the value = True from the registry key for the manual group. Trying to do something similar for UNIX. Is there an easy way to modify settings in the besclient.config file? Such as removing the:

value = True

line from the following besclient.config file snippit, to manually remove this target system from that Manual Group?

Software\BigFix\EnterpriseClient\Settings\Client__Group_0_TfT-Test

value = True

effective date = Fri,%2016%20Oct%202009%2012:38:03%20-0500
