Is this what a stand-alone Web Reports upgrade should look like, because that doesn’t sound like an upgrade…

This doesn’t sound like an upgrade either…

We’re repeatedly walking some new folks through the upgrade process on a test server. Started with 10.0.5 → 10.0.6 which worked fine and sounded like an upgrade. This is now 10.0.6 → 10.0.7 and this sounds like a remove-and-start-over, not an upgrade.
We’ve tried both running the Installation Generator for 10.0.7 and copying the Server directory from the upgraded Root Server (as instructed to here), but both give the same non-upgrade-sounding results.
This is how it works in my experience - it does sound “scary” but what it removes is the installer stuff, not the files/folders, nor touch the database, so when it puts the new version everything is configured and works exactly the same. This is the same exact warning message that appears on both the Web Reports, Root server & if not mistaken even WebUI. Of course, prior to any upgrade to any system it will be prudent to ensure you have a valid filesystem backup as well as database backup.

Gritted my teeth, held my breath, and clicked “Next >”.
It worked fine. Thank you.
I’d already taken a snapshot of the server, so I wasn’t that concerned, but still…you’d think the installer could use the word “upgrade” at least once.
Thanks, @ageorgiev!

From experience - I have actually uninstalled entire root server and then installed it back fresh on top - as long as your files/folders and database are there, the only thing you may lose are some BES Relay/BES Root server’ client settings (the uninstall just removes them by itself), so not that scary (at least not any more), but yea, definitely agree with you that it could be worded and packaged better…
