Think I already know the answer, but wondering if someone has information on enabling remote access for a SQL DB. This is the “Allow other SQL servers to connect remotely to this SQL server throug RPC” on the Connections tab.
I’m thinking it’s needed so Bigfix can send fixlets, tasks, etc.
I’m not an expert on this setting but it seems to be for allowing 2 SQL Servers to make connections to each other. Nothing we do out of the box requires two sql servers to talk to each other, all remote access to the database is done through ODBC. I would say this option shouldn’t affect the BigFix software in any way but I’m haven’t played with the option to know for sure.
