SOLVED: BESClient Stop Command Fails on Solaris 10

Hi all …

I had a case where the command /etc/init/d/besclient stop did not stop the BigFix client (9.2.6.94), even though we saw the usual “Stopping IBM BigFix: besclient” message. What we did see is the client respawn itself, almost like the stop command was being interpreted as “restart”.

Anyone else see this?

Are you using svcadm to stop the process? The BESAgent is now a service and you should use the service manager to control it

Using svcadm to stop the process? Of course not  I informed the Solaris admin to use svcadm. Thanks! --Mark
