BigFix Team is pleased to introduce the new Software Install Dashboard.

This new release provides a centralised and streamlined interface for deploying applications across your Windows and Mac OS endpoints. By simplifying the selection and targeting process, the dashboard enhances your Software Distribution capabilities allowing you to easily push custom, silent installations to thousands of machines or seamlessly publish applications to end-user catalogs.

What’s new:

This release introduces functionalities designed to simplify the lifecycle of software distribution. By leveraging the new dashboard, administrators can now utilize:

  • Streamlined Selection & Favorites: Easily filter deployments by selecting either Windows or Mac OS. The dashboard displays critical application details (ID, Name, Vendor, Release Date) and allows admins to mark frequently used software as "Favourites" for quick, dedicated access.

  • Flexible Deployment Options: Administrators have the flexibility to deploy software using the method that best fits their needs, whether that means grouping multiple applications into a single deployment package or pushing tasks individually.

  • Automated Self-Service Integration: Automatically bundle selected software into Multiple Action Groups and instantly publish those bundles as available offers directly within the BigFix Self-Service Application for end users.

  • Advanced Granular Targeting: Achieve precise control over deployments by targeting specific machines through predefined Computer Groups or by evaluating custom Relevance Expressions.

What is included:

  • A unified interface to deploy multiple application fixlets simultaneously.

  • OS-specific application filtering for Windows and Mac OS environments.

  • Automated Multiple Action Group and Self-Service Offer creation.

  • Targeted deployment capabilities via Computer Groups or Relevance Expressions.

  • Built-in Execution controls, allowing admins to easily set End Dates and "Reapply" parameters for persistent installations.

Actions to take:

Subscribe to the ‘Software Installer Library for Windows’ site from the License Overview dashboard. If the site is not showing in the License Overview dashboard, update your license from the dashboard by clicking ‘Check for license update’, then run the BigFix Administration Tool.

Once you have enabled the site, you can access the Software Install Dashboard from the following path:

  1. Open HCL BigFix Console

  2. Go to Sites > External Sites > Software Installer Library for Windows

  3. Expand the Dashboard folder and you will find the “Software Install Dashboard”.
