Hi there,
I get the below pop up when I log onto BF inventory but I have already setup the VM manager connection and it’s working as you can see in the picture. Is there an additional step I need to complete before the pop up message disappears? Or should I just go into advance server settings and hide that message?
Do all Computers show “OK” status (Reports -> Hardware inventory) or any of them show missing VM Manager status?
If you go to your Inventory URL and add /sam/processors?criteria=%7B"and"%3A%5B%5B"status_numeric"%2C"in"%2C%5B"4"%5D%5D%5D%7D to it you will get a list of servers with no VM Manager Data.
From that list you would need to identify the host and get it added to the VM Managers
This is what I see. I have purposefully omitted computername and ip address column.
so, add the host to VM managers in vcenter you mean?
So these servers will belong to a VM Manager (not the one you have configured). Speak to whoever owns the servers / uses them and find out which ESXi they belong to then have that added.
One of the things that my VM engineer asked if BFI connecting to VM Manager in vcenter will have any performance impact on vcenter the first time you setup the connection or any impact after the fact?
No more so than logging into the VCenter GUI and listing the VMs would do.
