Server 2012 SQL SP3 - IBM supported?

Hi Guys

Does IBM Bigfix support Server 2012 SQL SP3?
(out since november: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/321185?cm_mc_uid=32682276336214543314487&cm_mc_sid_50200000=1455543580)

Does anybody has any idea?

The doc’s I found:
http://www-969.ibm.com/software/reports/compatibility/clarity-reports/report/html/softwareReqsForProduct?deliverableId=631E46D045F911E5BB33E7199C786195&osPlatforms=Windows

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21570458

Are they not up2date or… ?

Thanks!

Hi Arne, if you are referring to patching, the following Fixlets are available in Patches for Windows site.

307277903 3072779: SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 3 Available
307277901 3072779: SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 3 Available (x64)

Hi @BaiYunfei

Thanks for your answer.

What I mean is:
If our DBA’s upgrade our Database server with SQL SP3, will IBM BigFix still work?

It should. See the following:

As always, test in your test deployment first.

Hey there - I am in the same situation, want to upgrade to SQL Server 2012 SP3, but do NOT want to break Bigfix…Have you made the upgrade and did everything go ok ?

thanks!!!
John

Hi @newmanjn

We have made the upgrade without any problems.

But please test it first in your test environment to be sure.

Good luck!

Thanks! I will. I just got through with a grueling situation trying to solve an SSL security issue with SQL Server 2012… the stupid thing will not accept wild card certificates, not without a bunch of manual work using regedit. But I finally got it working

Hi, Is there anything which needs to be taken care if we are using DSA setup while SQL server upgrade, please suggest.

Hi @vk.khurava

We are not using DSA, so can’t help you on that…

OK, what should be the best practices which needs to be implemented on Root Server during SQL server upgrade.

Hi

Our DBA did the upgrade, but we didn’t do anything regarding the Root server. But we have Remote Cluster SQL DB, so I guess they switched to the passive side during the upgrade of the active side and visa versa (but my knowledge of SQL is not that great…)
