Self Service Application - Location usage

I don't recall seeing this in the past but is it normal for the BigFix Self-Service Application to try and access location services? I haven't seen any references regarding SSA and using location but thought i'd ask and see if anyone knows.

I don't think it's anything we're doing explicitly, but I have seen Chrome browsers start to prompt for something similar on some of my Okta authentication pages (where I also don't think Okta nor my organization has change anything).

As an Electron app, the SSA is running an embedded copy of Chrome. I think it's just a generic permission prompt for something the browser used to do transparently.

That said, I don't write any of the SSA code. I'll try to get some visibility from the SSA team on this.

I think this is an errant message. Could you give me an idea of the exact OS version and what is all installed, I would like to have the team attempt to reproduce if possible. You can DM me if you feel more comfortable.

I believe it likely is too. I am working with the support person to get additional details from the device as well and i'll update you as soon as I get more information. Unfortunately, it may not be until Monday when I can get that information.

Ricardo verified that SSA does not use location, however please get specific version information for support so we can have an article for others.
