Hi,

We are doing an eval with the full blown version. I cannot seem to locate the Security Policy Manager Fixlet site.

On a previous post it mentioned that if its not installed to contact your sales rep. There is alot of stuff on this console, can anyone tell me where its located?

Hi,

You can find out if the Security Policy Manager site is installed by:

  • In the BigFix Console, go to menu Tools/Manage Sites…
  • If not on the list, use the “Add External Site” button to subscribe by pointing to the “Security Policy Manager.efxm” license file.

The license file is likely to have been sent to your BigFix Administrator.

Hope I am not stating only the obvious, let us know if you have issues.

Once you have it installed. You can see the content (Fixlets) by choosing the “Fixlet Messages” tab in the middle of the screen. Open the Folder “All Fixlet Messages”, then “By Site”, then locate folder “Security Policy Manager”.

Thanks Lee for the response. I did find the Security Policy Manager where you specified.

I found in a previous post;

Actually, there’s a fixlet that’s already there for what you want to do.

“Removable Media: Disable Future Use of CD-ROM Drives”

It’s in the Security Policy Manager Fixlet site.

My Security Policy Manager show;

Removable Media: USB Storage Device Detected

Removable Media: Disable Installation of USB Storage Devices - Windows XP Home

Removable Media: Disable Installation of USB Storage Devices - Windows 2000/XP Pro

It does not show “Removable Media: Disable Future Use of CD-ROM Drives”.

Does anyone know why this does not appear? Also the volume of Fixlets out there (10204) how can

I be sure I’m seeing everything I should be?
