Safari 7.0.4 Availability

(imported topic written by dlimanov)

Is there an ETA for Safari 7.0.4 update? Also, how come OSX updates in “Patches for Mac OS X” site do not have source release dates defined? Makes it much harder to find the latest updates.

Thanks!

Hi,

Sorry to keep you waiting. The
Safari 7.0.4
has been published on site “
Patches for Mac OS X
”, version
301
.

Thank you! Any word on why OSX patches do not have release dates, like Windows ones in TEM?

Hi,

Do you mean “Source Release Date” in BES Console?

(imported comment written by dlimanov)

Correct, this way I can sort by that and see the latest OSX patches released.

It is known issue.

Source Release Date of some sites cannot be displayed correctly in certain version of BES Console.

Unfortunately, Patches for Mac OS X is one of those sites.

I am really sorry for your inconvenience.

Understood, thank you for responding.

Chuxin, are these the new fix lets?

New/Updated Fixlet Messages:

*UPDATE: Safari 6.1.4 - Lion (10.7.5 Client), Mountain Lion (10.8.5 Client) (ID: 98140501)

*UPDATE: Safari 7.0.4 - Mavericks (10.9.3 Client) (ID: 98140502)

The reason I’m asking is those are informational only, and contain no download or actionable items.

Hi,

Apple has stopped providing download link for Safari.

So at this moment, we only provide audit fixlet (which does not have actions) for Safari.

Hi,

You could publish an action that takes advantage of OS X’ built-in softwareupdate:

wait sh -c “softwareupdate -i Safari7.0.4Mavericks-7.0.4”

This uses the native update facility, instructing the client to fetch the update directly from Apple. Over in another thread, I’ve requested that this methodology be adopted as options in all of the Apple updates.
