Is it possible to configure the RHEDownloadCacher to download from a local satellite server instead of the redhat network?

Hi jlenaeus,
Technically yes… but… it is not something that we released and we don’t consider it fully supported (so if it doesn’t work for you, please let us know, but no guarantees that we can fix it in a short timeframe). Note that I believe a few specific customers have tried it out and have reported it as working. The file has been hosted and is available via this link: http://software.bigfix.com/download/bes/util/RHEDownloadCacher-Satellite.exe
It’s been tested on versions 5.1 and 5.2 of Satellite Server. We think it will work on 4.2 and 4.1 as well but we never tried it.

I have tried to download the satellite caching tool and executed it. When it comes to Satellite version I’m connecte to a Satellite version 5.4, that is not supported by RHEDownloadCacher-Satellite.exe I got. Trying to go with satellite version 5.1 seems to use the wrong path for downloading RPM packages:

Could not reach site, sleeping for 5 sec and trying again…
Are there any RHEDownloadCacher-Satellite available that supports a satellite version 5.4?? Or does anyone know how to fix this. I’m working on download cacher version 3.8.
Thanks in advance.
