Reporting on tasks / groups

(imported topic written by TommyG91)

I created an automatic group, based on relevance, to show me all servers with mcafee issues. For example, show me servers where the dat is older than 5 days, or where the engine is old, etc. I then would create a computer properties report and filter on this group to report of those computers. The problem is, this group didn’t seem to be accurate all the time.

I was told by a bigfix support person, (I forgot who) that it was not a good idea to create groups based on complicated relevance script, so I created a task instead, to identify the computers I want. Currently, there are 219 computers relevant in this task.

When I go to web reporting, (the computer properties report), and I set up a filter to filter on this task I made, it STILL shows me all computers, not just the 219.

What is the best practice here for making these type of reports?

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tommy,

There are probably a few ways to do this.

If the issues are already been assessed via existing Fixlets, I would create session relevance queries to retrieve the results.

What are you going to do with the results? Is this just for reporting?

By way of example, this query will return all the computers reporting relevanve

(name of computer of it) of results from (bes computers) whose (relevant flag of it =

true) of (bes fixlets whose (name of site of it =
"Client Manager for Anti-Virus" and name of it =
"UPDATE: Outdated McAfee Virus Definition Detected"))
