when we roll out patches, we want the users to restart afterwards. Because users should get disturbed in their work, I set the option “Allow postponement of up to”: 1 day and “Force restart/shutdown after” 1 day.
Some of my colleagues reported that when they click the “remind again” button they will not get a reminder again. Also the restart is not forced after 1 day. Why does this not work? Did you experienced something like this?
I believe that if the action expires or is stopped, the reminder/restart dialog will not be shown later. Might this explain the behavior you are seeing?
No, the particular action is set to end in 2 weeks, so the action is still running when the postpone time should ran out. Also the users do not have the option to cancel the reboot.
I tested it for values from 1 - 10 minutes and it works. But user often postpone the reboot for several hours and then it seems that they do not get a reminder again nor is a reboot forced after 24 hours.
We are having the same problem. We had a extra look this week at a site with 144 clients and at least 10 of these had this problem, after chosen to postpone.
Four of these I have spoken with and they postponed between 45 minutes and up to 6 hours. And after that the restart request never returned.
We’re also having the same problem and it’s cousing a good number of machines go without the patch being applied due to the user forgetting to re-start their machines.
Any idea how can turn on the log feature of the BES Client?
