Relays.dat is this still supported today

Are besclients still downloading the relays.dat file from the BigFix server and is the update every 6 hours if there is one? If not still supported how are endpoints updated of the existing relays? I am reading ICMP Traffic Technical Details ( http://support.bigfix.com/bes/misc/besclient_icmp.html ) and the below automatic relay selection references this file.

During automatic relay selection, the BES Client sends out rounds of ICMP traffic with a constant TTL in each round. Each round of will send an ICMP packet to every BES Relay (BES Relays are listed in the ActionSite’s Relay.dat file).

The comment is correct and the file is used with the automatic relay selection.

The update can be more frequent but generally only if a new relay appears or one ages out.
