Red Hat certificates to enable repositories

Dear Gurús,

I was told that few weeks ago Red Hat changed their modality to obtain the certificates needed to update the patches repositories.

“With the recent transition of Customer to Hybrid Cloud Console, the system tab which was available on the customer portal where the subscription used to get attached no longer exists” is what one of the L2 specialists said on an e-mail I saw.

The problem posed is the unability to pull the certificates needed to enable the repositories using RHSMplugin.exe utility.

The file that the system owner was able to get has the form of: manifest_RHS1123_20240422T165015Z.zip (consumer export → export → entitlement_certificates with 4 .PEM files) but no one works.

Is anyone aware of the Red Hat modality change and/or how it would affect the ability to get the certifcates needed?

Any thought will be very appreciated.

Andrés-

I don’t think I heard about a change there, and checking my Red Hat subscription site it doesn’t look like anything’s changed to me… I still have the interface to attach subscriptions and download certificates

Thank you Jason for the information. Would you mind to share the URL you are accessing to?

Thank you !

Sure this starts from https://access.redhat.com/management

It works for us too. We just setup a new set of servers early this week and patching has been working correctly on those.

This is the screen the entitled user has access to and wonder why it could be different to the one you guys shared.

Thanks again for your time and patience and have a nice weekend.

I couldn’t be sure. I’d guess that they may not be entitled correctly with Red Hat? They should probably raise an issue with their Red Hat license support.

I asked the entitled user to export a new certificate from the “new redhat portal” and the cert worked just as expected.

I don’t know what changed from the first certs group compared to the new one but the thing is that it worked (still 4 certs per .ZIP file but I picked the 1st one)

Thank you very much again to all.
