There has been report of a problematic DAT version 5958 released for McAfee AntiVirus products.

The related McAfee Fixlets provided by BigFix, via the Client Manager for Endpoint Protection site, have not and will not update to version 5958 and will remain at the previous version 5957 until McAfee provides resolution.

The applicable CMEP Fixlets to remain at 5957:

A new DAT version 5959 has been released that resolves the 5958 false positive issue according to:

Solution

The issue is resolved in the 5959 DAT file release (April 21, 2010), which is available from the McAfee Security Updates page at:

http://www.mcafee.com/apps/downloads/security_updates/dat.asp?region=us&segment=enterprise

NOTE: Posting of the 5959 DAT file is currently in progress. It may take several hours for the new DAT file to replicate out to all McAfee download servers.

Please gather the Client Manager for Endpoint Protection site (version >= 1711) for the updated Fixlets to update McAfee products to DAT 5959.
