Preformance issue - BESClientLoggingService.exe is using 45% of CPU

(imported topic written by Jinix91)

Hi all,

Hope someone can help me with this problem.

We are using CA Pest Patrol & eTrust Antivirus trough BigFix + an update for the latest spyware/virus definitions.

The problem we have is that the BigFix service (BES Logging Service - Facilitates additional logging for the BigFix Enterprise Suite) is running and using 40-55% of CPU usage.

Sometimes it is impossible to do anything on the computer because of this service/process is killing my computer.

I have tested on a few clients and it is not all of them having the same problem, I can only find a “red thread” in some of the computers.

I know some of you might come with the suggestion that I uninstall the current antivirus product, and install a new like TrendMicro, but that is not an option at the moment.

I hope that someone can help me with this problem, maybe there is a tweak in BigFix or a trick in Windows.

Hi jinix,

That sounds bad… how many computers do you have with this issue?

I don’t know any obvious answer, but I think that you should contact support to discuss…

Hi Ben,

Thanks for the reply, it is not all of our computers there have the issue, it is only a couple of computers… it might be differcult to figure out how many users there have the issue, since im not sure how to grab the process CPU usage in bigfix or anywhere else.

I will write to the support desk and ask the question.

Do you have any knowledge with CA in BigFix ?

  • do you know if it is possible to delete the statistics in CA, bigfix support saids it is not possible.

Hmm… I believe there is a file that records the statistics and if you delete the file, it will forget the statistics… You will need to look at the relevance for one of the properties though…
